I am applying for the open position with your company. As a Cybersecurity student who focuses on computational thinking and problem-solving, coupled with years of superior customer support, my technical skills and service skills would be a successful addition to your IT department.
As a Cybersecurity student, I possess a thorough working knowledge of computer components, storage devices, and programming software applications. I always wanted to know how things worked and sometimes, what caused them to not work properly. For example, I created the NotaDestructiveProgram, which serves as a stress test program to see how much RAM can be utilized before a system crashes. This impressive feat showcases my understanding of how things work, the ethics of stress testing, and research of hardware components used to better understand actual capabilities.
Where the degree, per se, would provide me with the technical skills required to fulfill this position, my current position at Walmart as an Online Fulfillment Associate has provided me with the requisite soft skills necessary to thrive in the industry. Here, speed and accuracy, as well as attention to detail, are key components for inventory management systems and fulfilling online orders, which is essentially the IT equivalent of work tickets and asset management systems. Furthermore, consistent face-to-face customer support among a fast-paced retail operation, compounded by my own volunteering endeavors at Believers Bible Chapel, has transformed the way I appeal to customers to listen and maintain a level head. After all, customers are usually more frustrated by their problem than the actual problem itself - and I'm here to help.
